Though her professional path has led her through work with computers, accounting, and teaching, her heart has always belonged to literature. She writes poetry, prose, and lyrical impressions that weave together inner reflection and cultural insight.
Kalina Tomova was born in Haskovo, Bulgaria. She completed her studies at the University of Economics in Varna, obtaining degrees in Accounting and Pedagogy. Although her career has taken her through roles in computing, accounting, and teaching, her true passion has always been literature. She composes poetry, prose, and lyrical reflections that intertwine personal introspection with cultural narratives.
Since 2008, she has resided in Chicago, USA, where she has emerged as an influential figure in the Bulgarian community. She has covered social and cultural events, engaged in literary readings, and worked on collaborative projects with organizations and fellow artists. Her contributions include acting as a correspondent for Bulgaria Sega newspaper (2008–2013), co-founding the Literary Club Bulgarian Word (2009–2010), and serving as secretary for the Union of Bulgarian Writers in the USA and Around the World (2010–2013), which was later rebranded as the League of Bulgarian Writers, where she has been a board member since 2020. Additionally, she is Vice President of the Salon for Bulgarian Culture and Spirituality, a board member of the children's studio Televizioneri, and a member of the Confederation of Bulgarian Cultural Organizations and Artists Abroad.
